Anna Dymna’s social activities
Anna Dymna was awarded an honorary doctorate by the Maria Grzegorzewska University. She had been engaging in activities for people in need a long time before she started her own foundation.
Anna Dymna serves as the president of the Against the Odds Foundation for the common good. For many years, she has participated in projects initiated by non-governmental organisations, such as fund-raisers organised by the Civic Committee to Save Kraków and campaigns run by the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, Wielkie Serce Association, foundations such as Mam Marzenie, Nuta Nadziei, Akogo?, and many more. Since 2006, she has been the ambassador of the Debra Polska Kruchy Dotyk Association, which brings together people suffering from epidermolysis bullosa, a rare genetic disorder. In 1999, she started working with the Brother Albert Foundation and its president, Father Tadeusz Isakowicz-Zaleski, M.A., for example by helping the Foundation organise performances of the Radwanek Theatre, made up of actors with intellectual disability who live in a shelter in Radwanowice near Kraków.
Anna Dymna devotes her private time to direct the performances of Radwanek and to write screenplays. In 2001, she initiated the Albertiana Polish National Theatre and Music Festival of People with Disabilities. The festival finale takes place on the Big Stage of the Juliusz Słowacki Theatre in Kraków every year.
